Image resolution decrease online: what to know

Resolution here means the number of pixels, such as 4000 × 3000. Cutting it is the cleanest way to make a file smaller. Type a smaller width and height, keep proportions locked and press Resize.

Half the width and half the height means a quarter of the pixels, so the file often drops to about a quarter of the size too. The Best quality box can do this for you when you set a KB limit.

Tips

Halving both sides gives a quarter of the pixels.
