Decrease picture size online: what to know

A picture can be big in two ways: many pixels, and a large file. To decrease picture size cleanly, the tool lowers the pixels first and then the quality, only as much as needed to reach your limit.

Type the size you want, or leave the limit empty and just reduce the width and height. The result shows the before and after size.

Tips

Start with a limit about half of the current size.
Plain backgrounds compress best.
Save as JPG.
